Therapy for adults · Los Gatos and by video
Therapy for when the old ways of getting through stop working.
A new role, a stalled career, a relationship beginning or ending. You've handled a lot until now. This season is showing what it costs, and you want to understand why and do something about it.
How we work
Patterns, not labels
Rather than a label, we work with the patterns: how you respond under pressure, where that has served you, and where it's now costing you. Then we build new responses and try them out in your real life: the actual job, the actual relationship.
A diagnosis can be useful. It can open the door to accommodations at school or work. It doesn't tell you much about what to do next. The same restless night can come from very different places, so we look for what is driving it, and work on that.
The work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. In plain words: making room for what's hard instead of spending your life fighting it, getting clear on what matters to you, and taking small, concrete steps toward it. More about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
What sessions look like
Weekly, about 50 minutes
The first session
A full session to get clear on what's going on and what you're working toward. It also gives you a real sense of whether we're a good fit.
Each week
Each session starts from what you bring that week. We work out what's underneath it and practice new skills on it, so it feels like a conversation and stays focused on your goals.
Where
In person at 15814 Winchester Blvd, Suite 105, Los Gatos, CA 95030. Or by video, anywhere in California.
Assessment inside therapy
Sometimes a closer look at personality and how you're wired makes the therapy faster and more precise. It's never required, and we'd decide on it together. How assessment works.
Fees
$330 per session, private pay. I'm out of network with every insurance plan. I give you a superbill (a receipt) to send to your insurance, and many plans reimburse part of it.
When it isn't a good fit
- Urgent Needs: I work with a maximum of fifteen clients at a time, and keep a waitlist for non-urgent needs.
- Current crisis: or the transition out of hospital or intensive outpatient care, isn't a good fit for the limited extra support I can offer. In a crisis, call or text 988.
- Forensic, custody or court-ordered evaluations.
- Anyone under 18 for therapy. Assessment starts at age 6.
- Couples counseling: I only work with Individuals (relationship concerns are welcome of course).
The next step
The call is fifteen minutes and free.
You tell me what changed and what you're hoping for. I tell you whether I can help, what it costs and what would come next. If I'm not the right person, I say so and point you to someone who is.
